Quality, Safety and Environmental Manager – Global remit.
This is a challenging and important change management role, directly influencing the performance of a £100m + turnover UK based business operating globally.
Following the appointment of a new MD, driving significant change within the business, a strategic decision has been made to create this new role to spearhead a dramatic improvement in the performance of the Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental functions across global centres in the UK, Europe, Asia and the United States. The change is best described as bringing a Quality led approach to the core of the business working in a fully integrated manner alongside procurement, sales, account management and operations.
This international role will be more than a just a ‘policeman’ but will be a key influencer in business decision making at the top level and a source of specialist knowledge through a ‘common sense’ and balanced perspective.
You will analyse existing systems and processes; identify improvement needs; develop an overall plan for the future to reach ‘best in class’ benchmark levels …… and then be responsible for implementation. The appointment is fully supported by the board and is seen as critical to achieving the target of industry leading performance in all aspects of its business practices. You will ensure ‘buy in‘ through engagement at all levels and clear, extensive communication of the plan. The ability to influence, persuade and deliver across culturally diverse business units will be crucial to your success.
Candidates should possess a background including extensive experience of delivering, Quality led change, preferably in an international business. In addition, sound health and safety and environmental capability is a necessity.
Candidates should also possess;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed presentation skills, be comfortable presenting to customers as well as internal groups.
- Rounded ‘business‘ skills – be able to fully understand and articulate the impact on the bottom line of improvements in Quality performance.
- Willingness to travel internationally, approx. 25% of the time.
